CARLTON'S Dale Thomas has been charged with engaging in rough conduct after match review officer Michael Christian handed down his findings on Monday evening.
The incident occurred in the the third quarter of Sunday’s clash against Collingwood at the MCG.
Based on the available evidence and a medical report from the Collingwood Football Club, the incident involving Levi Greenwood from Collingwood was classified as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.
Thomas can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
Meanwhile, Ed Curnow, Sam Rowe and Patrick Cripps have been been handed financial sanctions for their involvement in a half-time melee on Sunday afternoon.
Curnow was charged with misconduct against Scott Pendlebury with a $1500 sanction on an early plea.
Rowe was charged with being the instigator of the melee and can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea, while Cripps was charged with a first offence for engaging in the melee and can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.
