Carlton selected former Demon Chris Johnson with its selection in the 2009 Pre-season draft. Johnson has been training with Carlton since pre-season training commenced in late October and he was taken with the Blues selection, number four overall.
In the Rookie Draft the Blues selected three new players to join the Club for the 2009 season and re-drafted three players from the 2008 list. Jeff Gartlett, Luke Stanton and Greg Bentley are the three new players while Darren Pfeiffer, Lachie Hill and Sam Jacobs will remain with the Blues in 2009.

Originally from East Fremantle was drafted by Melbourne with a 3rd round selection (Father/Son), number 36 overall, in the 2003 National Draft. Chris will turn 23 in January and he is 188cm tall, 87kg and he made his AFL debut in 2005.
