Kreuzer commits to the Blues
The Carlton Football Club announced today that Matthew Kreuzer has re-signed with the Club.
“We are delighted that Matthew has committed to continuing his career with Carlton. He is an outstanding young man and has shown in his first two years in the AFL, where he has had an immediate impact at Carlton and in the competition, that he has a sensational career in front of him,” said General Manager Football Operations, Steven Icke.
Kreuzer has re-signed for a further two years ensuring he will be a Carlton player until at least the end of 2012.
“I have really enjoyed my first two years at Carlton and believe it is a fantastic time to be at the Club. Obviously the improvement on the field and playing a final last year was great and I look forward to playing more finals and enjoying success with everyone at Carlton. Together with the sensational new facilities at Visy Park certainly makes Carlton a great place to be,” Kreuzer said.
Kreuzer was Carlton’s first selection, number one overall, in the 2007 NAB AFL National Draft and won Carlton’s best first year player in 2008. He has played every game since making his debut in round 3, 2008 for a total of 43 matches, finishing fifth in the John Nicholls Medal (Carlton Best & Fairest Award) last season.
