Super Saturday for the Blues
The final training session for the school holidays was held in front of hundreds of Carlton supporters.
It was great to see Robbie Warnock and Sam Jacobs going head to head in a number of drills. It certainly confirmed the great position we are in when it comes to 'tall timber' and makes one realise that with Kreuzer and Hampson in addition to these two, opposition defenders will certainly need to be prepared for some big bodies in the Carlton forward line.
The only down side to the training session was an injury to "The Chief" (Simon Wiggins) who injured his knee during the seesion and went straight off the ground. Hopefully he is ok and will be available to take part in our first intra-club match this Friday, February 5. (Visy Park at 10am).
Of course it was more than a training session, supporters had a first hand look at the new Carlton Shop in the redevelopment at Visy Park and everyone was impressed and can't wait to see all the facillities on Family Day (February 14). The players are obvioulsy loving the new facilities.
The Cheer Squad were on hand as well, cooking the sausages to ensure supporters had something to eat while enjoying the training session on a beautiful Saturday morning.
The finish of the session saw the players involved in a goal kicking contest in front of the new facilities at Visy Park. Every player had a kick and those who missed were eliminated from the competition. That didn't mean they were no longer involved as they made a nuisance of themselves trying to put off other players kicking for goal. The elimination continued as the angle become more difficult and in the end it was Hadley, Fisher and Kreuzer remaining, with Fisher the eventual winner.
