Flagstaff becomes a Blue Zone
The Carlton playing list took some time out on Saturday morning to explore all that Flagstaff has to offer.
With the team split into four groups, Blues coach Mick Malthouse used the opportunity to bond with some of the Club's senior players, showing them around the beautiful town and pointing out a few of its notable landmarks.
Michael Jamison, who was part of the coach's travelling party, said he and his teammates relished the opportunity to share a quiet coffee with Carlton's new commander-in-chief.
"Mick is such a knowledgable person. It's just fantastic to be able to pick his brain about football knowing that he has lived it all before," Jamison said.
After lunch, Carlton players and staff ventured down to Northern Arizona University's Skydome to catch an American football match between the NAU Lumberjacks and the travelling Southern Utah Thunderbirds. Unfortunately for the home side, it was the Thunderbirds who prevailed in one of the best matches of the year.
Training will continue on Sunday, with skills and weights to start the day.
