Rob Warnock has agreed to remain with the Carlton Football Club for a further three seasons after agreeing to terms with the Club this week.

“We are delighted to confirm that Rob Warnock has committed to continuing his playing career at Carlton for a further three seasons,” Carlton General Manager Football Operations, Andrew McKay announced at Visy Park today.

“At just 25 years of age we know Rob’s best football is ahead of him and he will play an important role in the Carlton team for the remainder of this season and in the future,” added McKay.

Warnock joined Carlton from Fremantle via the Exchange Period prior to the 2008 National Draft. A Melbourne boy, Warnock played for Old Brighton and Sandringham Under 18s before he joined Fremantle in the 2005 AFL National Draft (selection 42 overall).

He made his AFL debut in 2007 and played 21 games for the Dockers before joining the Blues at the end of the 2008 season. He was restricted by injury to seven games in the VFL in 2009 and made his Carlton debut in round one 2010 against Richmond at the MCG and has now played 37 games for the Blues.

“I am really pleased to have this finalised before the end of the season as it stops speculation about my future,” Warnock said today.

“I really enjoy being at the Carlton Football Club, we have a great playing group, a great mix of successful and knowledgeable coaches and importantly great facilities at Visy Park.

“While there has been frustrating times due to injury, I believe I have an important role to play and it is great the Club agree and has shown faith in me. I look forward to repaying this faith,” added Warnock.

Warnock is currently serving a one-match suspension from the VFL, however he will not be available for selection until Round 18 due to the Northern Blues having a bye this weekend.
