While Carlton Assistant Coach John Barker confirmed today that Judd would not be playing for the Blues the Carlton Captain will coach Carlton’s Legends/Celebrity Team in the break between games on Saturday night.
“I am looking forward to giving Andy Lee some tips on his goalkicking after hearing about his performances in recent charity football games,” Judd said while discussing selection of the team at Visy Park today.
Andy Lee will be joined by Sam Lane and Dean Jones, together with former Carlton players including Dean Rice and Lance Whitnall in the Blues Legends/Celebrity team to play against Richmond at Etihad Stadium.
Judd will also join other players not playing in the first round of the NAB Cup signing autographs for supporters prior to the game on Saturday night.
This 9-a-side Legends/Celebrity game and autograph sessions are part of the additional events aimed to assist with the fundraising activities from round one of the NAB Cup. All clubs and the AFL are working together to raise funds to assist the flood-affected football communities across the country.
“I urge all Carlton supporters to get along to Saturday night’s NAB Cup, not only to support the team but to get behind the fundraising activities to support the local clubs that have been affected by the recent floods,” Judd said.
