Laidler wins again
Jeremy Laidler proved his 2010 Carlton Corporate Golf Day victory was no fluke when he was part of the 2011 winning team last week.
Laidler won the event last year after being at Carlton for less that two months and this year, in a different team, he once again enjoyed the spoils of victory.
Lachie Henderson was disappointed he didn't get the opportunity to challenge for the title, with training commitments keeping him out of the event this year. Henderson loves his golf and there was a greater feeling of confidence among the other players when they knew he wasn't involved.
The prestigious event is sponsored by Ikon Services, Premier Partner of the Carlton Football Club, with current and former players taking part in the day's activities. Stephen Kernahan, Craig Bradley, Greg Williams, Mil Hanna and Adrian Gleeson took part in the day and were joined by 1995 Premiership teammates Brett Ratten and Andrew McKay.
Jeremy Laidler, Dennis Armfield, Andrew Collins, Kane Lucas, Andrew Walker and Dave Ellard represented the current playing list.

Although the golfers teed off in sunny conditions, the weather soon turned violent and when lightning struck the 10th fairway and started a small fire, the round of golf was halted. Finally the teams were back out on the course in a shortened 14 hole event.

While the current and former players are known for their golfing talents, it appears they were more interested in a friendly afternoon with the main prizes being won by corporate guest.
Musbah Charkas was not only part of the Charkas Middle East Foods winning team, he also won nearest the pin. Jason Harbinson from Smash Enterprises won the longest drive while General Manager of Football Operations Andrew McKay was part of the runner-up team from the Royce Hotel. Andrew Collins was a member of the 3rd placed team from Smash Enterprises
