The Visy Effective Disposals Schools program has had another successful year with over 950 students participating in 2009.

Throughout the year Visy ambassadors visited schools throughout Melbourne, teaching student’s ways in which they can make a positive impact on the environment, at home and at school.

It was a busy year with the Carlton Football Club also hosting a Super Clinic at Visy Park with three local schools in the area. Carlton Primary School, Carlton Nth and Princes Hill Primary Schools all attended and were put through various activities and discussed different ways their school helps the environment.

All Carlton’s Environmental Ambassadors were in attendance.

In August, to coincide with the AFL’s Green Round, a competition was conducted; the winning entry won a clinic with Chris Judd at their school.

“We were inundated with passionate and enthusiastic young environmentalists, expressing their own ways their school helps the environment,” Carlton’s Community Partnership Executive, Lyndall Down told carltonfc.com.au

Altona Green Primary School was the well deserved winning school, with many programs and activities implemented to encourage all students to play their part in helping fight climate Change.

“Thank you to all the schools that participated and supported the program this year and we are all looking forward to an even bigger and better program in 2010, with all clinics to be held at the new redevelopment at Visy Park,” Down added.
