Students from Carlton Primary, Carlton Gardens and Princes Hill Primary schools, this week strutted their stuff under the watchful eye of the club's captain and Visy's environmental ambassador Chris Judd - together with fellow ambassadors Paul Bower, Shaun Grigg, Brad Fisher and co. - in what was a series of five-minute rotation drills with a difference.
The drills included handballing (as a means of getting outside and being active); tackling (to reinforce the message of tackling climate change); recycling tunnelball (by placing items into correct bins); a rubbish and recyclers race (as a reminder of what schoolyard items can and can't be recycled); the transfer of rain buckets (to emphasise the importance of water storage); and kicking (to kick goals for the environment).
Earlier, Judd invited one representative from each school to discuss ways their school is helping the environment. At the conclusion of the Super Clinic, he and his fellow Carlton players signed autographs for the students and presented them with Visy Gift packs.
It was a big week for "The Juddster", who rubbed shoulders with "The Ruddster" (aka Prime Minister Kevin Rudd) at Parliament House, Canberra, in what was a whirlwind visit to launch the Australian Football League's Green Round.
