NEW year, same Patrick Cripps.
Carlton’s skipper has featured in the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award votes for Round 1.
Cripps was awarded six votes for his performance in the season opener, behind Richmond’s Trent Cotchin (10 votes) and Kane Lambert (eight votes).

In his first official game as joint captain, Cripps collected 32 disposals (22 contested), eight clearances and six tackles in the loss to the Tigers.
He was once again at his bullocking best against formidable opposition, leading from the front in a young midfield featuring impressive youngsters such as Zac Fisher, Will Setterfield and Sam Walsh.
Cripps finished second in the 2018 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year award behind Max Gawn.
