South Aussies show support for the Blues
Carlton's South Australian fans relished their opportunity to get up close and personal with the Blues at the team's open training session today.
More than 500 supporters saw Senior Coach Brett Ratten put his players through their final paces ahead of tomorrow night's clash with Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.
"We only play in Adelaide once this season, so it was great to see so many of our fans come out to training and cheer the boys on," Brett said.
"It is can be tough playing interstate because you notice pretty early on that the fans are generally against you, the support is not as strong as it is playing at home.
"However we've always had a great supporter base here in SA, so hopefully they will head to AAMI Stadium tomorrow night and even up the crowd support. I know we have enjoyed great support here in previous years and the players certainly notice it and appreciate having vocal Carlton fans at the ground."
After training, the entire Carlton team spent time signing autographs and interacting with their fans.
Captain Chris Judd was mobbed by supporters along while both Eddie Betts and former South Australian Bryce Gibbs also proved to be crowd favorites.
