Marc Murphy will return to AFL action tomorrow night in Carlton’s Round 16 match against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

It will be Murphy’s first game since injuring his shoulder against Adelaide at the same venue in Round 8 in May.

“It is great to be back in the team,” Murphy said after training at Visy Park today.

“It is tough sitting in the stands watching so I am really looking forward to tomorrow night to be out playing again and hopefully I can play my part in ensuring the team continues the form shown against Collingwood last week.”

Joining Murphy back in the team is Lachie Henderson who was a surprise selection after it was thought he would be another week away from playing.

“I have done plenty of work over the last couple of weeks and was confident I would be right to play and training this week confirmed I was ready for action,” Lachie said.

This will be Henderson’s first game since Carlton’s Round 12 match against West Coast.

Murphy and Henderson come into the Carlton team replacing the injured Kade Simpson and Shaun Hampson. Simpson is set to miss four matches with a broken jaw while Hampson will be out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.
