The Carlton Football Club has launched an exciting new promotional branding campaign, “I AM CARLTON”.

The Blues Marc Murphy launched the innovative campaign prior to training at Visy Park this morning with all players and coaching staff wearing their “I AM CARLTON” t-shirts for the start of today’s training session.

Carlton CEO, Greg Swann said the club identified a need to provide further engagement opportunities in a bid to improve its growing supporter base.

“The thinking behind the “I AM CARLTON” campaign is to evoke the enormous passion and pride that is shared amongst all Carlton supporters,” he said.

“We’ve tried to tap into the fact that footy’s more than just a game, it’s a connection between generations, a bond between friends, an ice-breaker between strangers.

“So whether you’re a fully-fledged member, an armchair supporter, a Blues veteran or a brand new fan, “I AM CARLTON” is about coming together and standing as one.”

Carlton launched the campaign in the lead up to tomorrow’s member appreciation game, the round 24 match against St Kilda at the MCG. The “I AM CARLTON” will be a driving message during the finals and will carry over into the 2012 membership campaign.

A television commercial and action posters are features of the campaign that drives supporters to the new supporter website, iamcarlton.com.au

Everyone who registers their details on iamcarlton.com.au will receive an immediate email response from Carlton President, Stephen Kernahan, together with a personalised “I AM CARLTON” wallpaper for their computer or iphone.

“This is an exciting campaign for the club and we look forward to all Carlton supporters registering on the website, iamcarlton.com.au,” Murphy said at the launch.

The “I AM CARLTON” t-shirts, as worn by the players at today’s training session, are now available through the Carlton Shop. Click here here to order yours.
