Carlton and Hawthorn players will run out in orange bootlaces tonight in support of Step Back Think's "Lace Up" campaign, which aims to raise awareness of street violence.
The orange laces are a visual reminder that one punch – one moment in time – is all it takes to change lives forever.
The issue of random violence is close to the Carlton Football Club. Luke Mitchell's brother David has endured a long road to recovery, after being king hit outside a bar in 2008.
Luke and David have spoken to the Seven Network, and their story will air at half-time during the broadcast of tonight's game.
You can show your support by wearing orange laces tonight, free with this week's AFL Record.
