A TRIPLE treat.
Three Blues couldn’t be split when it came to this week’s AFL Champion Player of the Year votes.
Decided on by the coaches, Levi Casboult, David Cuningham and Sam Docherty all received eight votes from the coaches for Saturday night’s showing.
For the second straight week, Casboult topped the vote-getters on the back of a three-goal performance which also saw him haul in nine marks (three contested).
He was joined by Cuningham after a career-best showing saw the speedster amass 28 disposals and seven score involvements.
Then, there’s the case of co-captain Docherty, who was a defensive wall against Essendon. From his 32 disposals, he operated at 91 per cent efficiency, as well as contributing eight rebound 50s.
Like Casboult and Docherty, Marc Pittonet polled votes (four) for the second straight game: the impressive ruckman had a game-high eight clearances, with some crucial contests in the last quarter going a long way to ensuring a second straight win.
Rounding out the votes was Casboult’s forward partner Mitch McGovern, who kicked two goals and provided a constant focal point in attack against Essendon.
