OVERVIEW

It was a year of mixed fortunes for Levi Casboult. After playing in the opening two matches of the season the 23-year-old returned to the VFL, before being elevated again in Round 10.

At 199cm tall, Casboult consistently demonstrated a solid marking ability, with the young ruck-forward finishing the season ranked second in the league for contested marks per game. Accuracy in front of goal, however, continued to frustrate – Casboult openly identifying it as an area he is working on.

Casboult’s best game came in the Round 21 win over Richmond at the MCG. In his return to the Blues’ senior side, Casboult finished with 15 disposals, five marks, two tackles, eight effective hit-outs and three goals.

With 17 AFL games now under his belt, the Blues are hopeful Casboult’s potential can be harnessed, with bigger and better things on the horizon in 2014.
