A number of Carlton players have pressed their case for senior selection, with solid performances for the Northern Blues in round 15 of the VFL.

The Blues took out a 58-point win over old enemy Coburg, to level the Bell Street Cup at 73-wins apiece.

Coach Luke Webster says he was pleased with the effort over four quarters.

“Two weeks in a row now they’re playing as a team, as one unit, and we’re getting to see the results.”

One of the standouts was Levi Casboult, who finished with three goals.

Luke Webster says Nick Graham, Tom Bell and Robert Warnock were also outstanding.

“Nick was really good for us all day. He cracked in at centre bounces and was very good in and around the clearances.

“Tom Bell played a really good game coming back from his (injured) jaw, having 30 odd disposals. I think he had six or seven tackles as well.

“Robbie Warnock again gave the boys some really good service in the ruck. I think he had 28 or 29 hit-outs for the day, and took a couple of really strong marks around the ground.”

The Northern Blues face another big challenge this weekend – they head to the Mornington Peninsula to take on Frankston on Sunday.
