Carlton players have a September spring in their step, as they prepare to take on Richmond in an Elimination Final on Sunday.
A crowd of 90,000 people is expected at the MCG, as the old rivalry with Richmond is renewed.
Coach Mick Malthouse is no stranger to that rivalry, but he says he's trying to keep his team focused on the process.
"We'll attack the week with the knowledge that if we put the work in and we worry about the process as opposed to the result, we give ourselves a real chance," Malthouse said.
The Blues could regain three players from injury for Sunday's match, including Chris Judd, Brock McLean and Heath Scotland.
Meanwhile a big congratulations to Carlton vice captain Kade Simpson who has been nominated for the AFL Player's Association's Most Courageous Award.
Many here at Carlton have a theory on Simpson's outstanding season; that it could have something to do with the beard!
But Simpson says the beard is coming off for a good cause – he's raising money for Down Syndrome Victoria.
