OVERVIEW

2013 was Rob Warnock’s fifth year in the navy blue, and he finished it on the cusp of his 50th AFL game for Carlton.

The 26-year-old’s season was interrupted with a knee injury, which he suffered in Round 9 against Brisbane. It limited Warnock to just 12 senior appearances, but during that limited game time the Blues’ big man showed he can dominate the ruck.

Warnock finished the season ranked third overall in the League for hitouts per game, with an average of 34.5, placing him narrowly behind Western Bulldog Will Minson and Kangaroo Todd Goldstein.

Warnock: Blues Have Plenty Of Choices

HE SAID IT

"It's always a massive challenge taking on two quality ruckman like those guys because they're great competitors, they're strong, smart, they work hard, they work well together, and they're good at giving their mids first use.”

"But I'm really looking forward to it. It's exciting testing yourself against two of the best ruckmen in the competition on the big stage in finals,” – Rob Warnock speaking to AFL.com.au ahead of the Semi-Final against Sydney.

THEY SAID IT

"It really has been terrific (Warnock’s form). He's such a good kid – it's such a credit to him.

"I have only had him for 12 months, but there has never been a issue with him in where he plays. He just wants to be part of the football club and he just wants to play senior footy, clearly." – Mick Malthouse, Wednesday 11 September.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Although Warnock enjoyed a strong finish to the season, his best game came in Round 7 against St Kilda. Warnock was dominant in the ruck, finishing the match with 14 disposals, 5 marks, 5 tackles and 42 hitouts.
