Carlton ruckman Shaun Hampson could be on his way to Richmond if a deal can be struck between the two clubs, according to Hampson's manager Michael Quinlan.
Hampson, who is overseas, is contracted to Carlton for season 2014 but Richmond has shown significant interest in recruiting the 25-year-old.
"We have been in discussions with the Richmond Football Club," Quinlan told Gillette Trade Radio on Monday.
"He is contracted for another year at Carlton. But if he wants to be traded that is the destination he would choose and I'm hopeful that something might be completed sooner rather than later."
Hampson has played 63 matches across seven seasons at the Blues and managed just six games in 2013 under new coach Mick Malthouse. His last appearance for Carlton came in round seven against St Kilda.
"There's no negativity coming from Shaun or Carlton about each other," Quinlan said.
"It's a very supportive club that he's at."
"Carlton are fairly open minded about it too which suggests it might be a good move for him.
"Richmond are the ones saying they would like him and if we can get a good deal then it's definitely on the cards."
