OVERVIEW

Michael Jamison had another consistent season as one of Carlton’s dependable backmen. The 27-year-old was one of just five Blues players to run out for every game in 2013. He finished the season ranked 6th in the League in total one percenters and 16th in the League in total time on ground.

In Round 14, Jamison notched up his 100th AFL game against Sydney at the SCG. He is the first keeper of Carlton’s No.40 guernsey to reach the milestone and have his name added to the locker.

Jamison went on to finish 6th in the John Nicholls Medal count, underlining his value to the team as a key defender.

“I remember just getting hit and a huge crack going down my neck, so I was probably a little bit worried because of the sound and a few little tingles.

“It all cleared up pretty quickly so I wasn’t too concerned, but with necks the Doc had to be pretty cautious, so that’s probably the reason it all took so long.”

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

Jamison was also highly praised for his performance in Round 2 against Collingwood, after keeping Magpies key forward Travis Cloke scoreless for the match.
