Carlton defender Zach Tuohy says if he wasn’t playing football, he’d be eating fish and chips – possibly every day – like he did at school.
The 23-year-old Irishman has spoken to Croc Media, also revealing that when he goes back home to Ireland he needs to “put on” an Irish accent, because friends and relatives back home think he sounds like an Aussie.
Of the weekend win over Brisbane, Tuohy says his side was expecting a tough game, after the Lions upset Essendon the previous week.
"They came at us hard in the second quarter, and really got on top and just smashed us. It was good to come out in the second half and respond, and eventually come away with a win."
The win has elevated the Blues to 8th on the ladder, and Tuohy says they’ll be out to cement a spot in the top eight, when Carlton takes on GWS on Saturday.
"Although we had a slow start to the year, to be honest I think that was to do with the players just not performing. But now we’re starting to get a bit more confidence and hopefully can only improve going forward."
