The Northern Blues will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss, when they take on Frankston at Preston City Oval on Saturday.
The Blues went down to Geelong by 58 points last weekend.
Coach Luke Webster says while their colours were lowered, there were some positives to take from the match, including the return of Andrew McInnes from a serious knee injury.
"He kicked our first goal as a backman, so it was a really good reception for him back there. The boys got around him when he started playing and obviously when he kicked the goal. It was probably the first sign of spirit we'd shown all day."
After a lack-lustre first half, the Blues fought back in the second, led by Tom Bell, who finished the match with 31 touches.
"Tom Bell played really well for us. He was probably the only one over four quarters who gave us a consistent effort in his work rate and his intensity to try and change the game."
The Northern Blues now sit seventh on the ladder, Frankston is 13th. But Webster says they're expecting another tough test against the Dolphins.
"They've been really competitive and performing really well. They took it right up to Werribee last weekend so it's another great challenge for our group."
