Carlton's Nick Graham says he will never forget the feeling of running out at the MCG for the first time.

Graham made his debut for Carlton in Saturday's 10-point win over Richmond.

The 19-year-old gathered nine disposals, after beginning the match as the substitute and going on in the third quarter.

"It was unreal - and the first time that I have ever stepped foot on the 'G'," Graham said.

"As a kid I actually grew up barracking for Richmond, so to come out here and have a good win - it couldn't have felt any better to be honest."

The Blues midfielder says the pace and intensity of the game was a step-up from the VFL, where he has been averaging 27 possessions.

"It was quick – very quick and congested. I just loved being out there.

"As soon as I ran out there, the sound of the crowd and the intensity was so much higher and I just loved it and want to do it all over again."

Graham says his Carlton teammates has plenty of advice on how to handle the nerves heading into his first AFL match.

"When I ran out my legs felt like jelly to be honest. But the boys all got around me and said, 'just take it as it comes, just enjoy it, it's your first one. You'll remember it forever'

"So to get it (his AFL debut) out of the way now and have a good win, it's something that I'll remember for the rest of my life."
