OVERVIEW
After making his AFL debut in Round 23 of last year, the stage was seemingly set for Luke Mitchell to make a bigger impact in 2013. Unfortunately it didn’t pan out that way, as the key forward was unable to break into the senior side.
Mitchell played 15 games in the VFL for 2013, but was delisted at the end of the season.
Off the field, Carlton’s No.25 was a key contributor to the Club’s community work, acting as an ambassador for the Step Back Think campaign, which aims to raise awareness of street violence.

HE SAID IT
''I look at Dave and what he's gone through, and he's had things taken away from him. I've just had sports injuries and he can't do some of the normal things in life. But I guess what I've seen him do is roll on, try to get better, and it makes you want to do the same.”

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Mitchell’s best performance for the year came in Round 10 against Frankston, when he kicked four goals and was unstoppable in the air. The 21-year-old finished the match with seven marks – five of which were contested.
