Carlton’s Michael Jamison has reflected on the knock that saw him carried off the ground on a stretcher in the dying minutes of the Semi-Final against Sydney.
Jamison’s family and teammates watched on with deep concern as the 27-year-old lay still on the turf and had his neck put in a brace.
Jamison says he clearly remembers the incident.
“I remember just getting hit and a huge crack going down my neck, so I was probably a little bit worried because of the sound and a few little tingles,” Jamison said.
“It all cleared up pretty quickly so I wasn’t too concerned, but with necks the Doc had to be pretty cautious, so that’s probably the reason it all took so long.”
After a hospital visit for precautionary scans, Jamison was up and walking again, and able to fly back to Melbourne with the team the following morning.
On the year that was, Carlton’s No.40 says he believes inconsistency was the Blues biggest issue in season 2013, while he rates the Elimination Final win over Richmond as their greatest moment.
