The AFL’s Trade Period opens today, with Father/Son bidding to get underway this morning.
The Blues expect to be heavily involved in the trade negotiations again this year, although the Club hit an unexpected snag to kick things off.
Late Friday the AFL announced Carlton will not receive any compensation for the loss of free agent Jarrad Waite to North Melbourne.
AFL has advised Carlton that due to contract amount offer to J Waite & player's age, there will be no compensation for his move to NMelb.

Carlton’s CEO Steven Trigg has told The Age, the Club had been hopeful of receiving at least a third round pick.
"We are disappointed with the outcome and annoyed with the process, the process part in particular," Trigg told The Age yesterday.
"The lack of transparency about the valuation makes it very difficult for a club to assess how hard to work to keep someone ahead of the transaction.
"We always felt like Waite would be worth a third-round pick, and you factor that into your whole thinking when you're assessing his visibility to be a free agent.
"I think the AFL themselves would agree that there is a better way of having a more transparent approach to that.”
Meanwhile the Blues are being linked to several players including Western Bulldogs Liam Jones and Jason Tutt, and Giant Kristian Jaksch.
