The Blues will face the Bombers in a Saturday afternoon showdown to wrap up the home-and-away season for 2014.
The AFL has unveiled it’s fixture for Round 23, which had been left as a floating round when the fixture was announced late last year.
Carlton will take on Essendon at 1.45pm on Saturday 30 August at the MCG, in a match Essendon may need to win to secure a place in the top eight.
The last time the two sides met was in Round 3 and on that occasion Essendon came away big winners – so the Blues will be out to make amends and finish the season on a high.
