Carlton will need to make at least three changes to its side for this weekend's clash with the West Coast Eagles at Etihad Stadium.
Chris Judd, Ed Curnow and Tom Bell have all been sidelined with injuries sustained in the Blues' 28-point win over the Western Bulldogs.
Scans on Monday revealed Judd has suffered a hamstring strain in his right leg after an incident late in the third quarter.
The dual Brownlow medalist says it was simply bad luck – in what marked his first match back after Achilles surgery.
"I was really well conditioned, had done a heap of running and a heap of leg strength work so there was no issue with my conditioning,” Judd said.
“I just got pushed by accident into a position that hamstrings can't tolerate, so it wouldn't have mattered if I trained for 50 weeks or six weeks, it wouldn't have changed the outcome.”
Judd is expected to return after Carlton's bye in Round 9.
Meanwhile Ed Curnow will be out for six weeks, after fracturing the fibula in his right leg when he made contact with the behind post in the final quarter of Sunday's game.
Tom Bell was also a casualty, fracturing a finger in his right hand.
Bell will have surgery today and will be out for up to a month.
But in better news in the injury front, Michael Jamison and Troy Menzel are expected to be available for selection.
Jamison missed Round 5 with a calf injury and Menzel with an injured hamstring.
The full Athelite Nutrition injury update with Football Operations Manager Andrew McKay will be available on the Carlton website later today.
