Carlton player Jeff Garlett has this evening been charged with affray in relation to an incident in the early hours of Sunday August 3 this year.
Garlett has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 3.
He will not travel to Adelaide for Carlton's round 22 match against Port Adelaide on Friday night.
Garlett and the Club have cooperated with police throughout the investigation and Carlton will continue to offer Garlett support throughout this time.
Garlett’s legal representatives will now assess the brief and determine how the case will proceed, but stress he has the presumption of innocence.
As this is an on-going legal matter the Club will not make any further comment.
