THE Blues may be without Charlie Curnow for their clash with GWS on Sunday at Etihad Stadium after the star forward was charged with striking on Monday afternoon.
Curnow can accept a one-match sanction for his strike on Steven May following Saturday night’s victory over the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium.
AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian deemed the incident as intentional conduct with low impact to the head. The incident was assessed as a one-match sanction.
The incident occurred during the second quarter of the Round 19 clash.
Meanwhile, Patrick Cripps has escaped a sanction for his contact with the Suns’ David Swallow in the first quarter of the clash. It was the view of the Match Review Officer that the incident did not constitute a dangerous tackle and Cripps’ actions were not unreasonable in the circumstances - therefore no further action was taken.
