Carlton up-and-comer Meg Robertson will remain in the Navy Blue until at least the end of 2027 after signing a two-year contract extension.
Drafted to Carlton with pick No.31 in the 2023 AFLW draft, Robertson featured in seven games in her first season at the Blues, playing every match since making her debut in Round 5 last year.
A second-generation Blue, Robertson was Carlton’s second father/daughter selection, after Abbie McKay in 2018, with her dad Ben playing in three games for the Blues in 1992.
In just her second match at AFLW level, Roberston collected 20 disposals and took five marks, following on from a few days prior where she lay seven tackles on debut against North Melbourne.
Having started her career at half back, Robertson showcased confidence in the contest and displayed her high football IQ to read the play and impact offensively with clean disposal.
At just 19 years of age, Carlton Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said Blues’ fans will enjoy seeing Robertson emerge over the coming years.
“We have been impressed with the way Meg carries herself, she has adopted professional standards at such a young age and it came to the fore in her first season at the elite level,” Naulty said.
“Meg is eager to continually better herself on the field as well as off the field. She has a genuine go-getter attitude and is always willing to try anything asked of her, which we saw throughout her first season.
“We are excited to watch her continue to grow and can’t wait to see what she can achieve in her own right in the Navy Blue.”
