Carlton could regain ruckman Rob Warnock for Friday night's Round 2 clash with West Coast in Perth.
Warnock hasn't played since suffering a knock to his shoulder in the Blues' second NAB Challenge match.
Carlton added Dale Thomas and Kristian Jaksch to its injury list after the season opener against Richmond.
Jaksch will be sidelined for up to a fortnight after his ribs were injured when he was hit in the side, while Thomas will be out for six weeks after dislocating his shoulder.
But Head of Football Andrew McKay says the good news is that Thomas doesn't require surgery.
"It (his shoulder) was put back in soon after he left the field of play," McKay said.
"Scans revealed there wasn't a whole lot of damage there so we're going to treat it conservatively, without surgery that is, and he will probably be back in the next five or six weeks."
Meanwhile Blues big man Matthew Kreuzer will be back running this week and should be in contention for selection in a fortnight, as he continues to recover from a foot injury.
Injury List:
Giles (foot) indefinite
Jaksch (ribs) 1-2 weeks
Kreuzer (foot) 2 weeks
Sheehan (groin) 1-2 week
Thomas (shoulder) 6 weeks
Walker (knee) 1 week
Warnock (shoulder) test
