The first AFL match to be played at the new-look Visy Park is on today and the Carlton players are looking forward to playing at ‘home’. While much of the media focus has been on the Brisbane Lions, the Carlton players are excited about being able to use the new facilities at the venue to prepare for the NAB Challenge match.
It will be a new experience for the Carlton players and for many supporters as they come to the first game at Visy Park since the redevelopment was completed. For Michael Voss it will be like turning the clock back as the Brisbane Lions will be using the old away team rooms beneath the Pratt Stand, the same rooms Voss used on a number of occasions when he played against Carlton at the venue.
The rooms were the away team rooms when AFL was played at Visy Park and following the farewell game the rooms were converted into the Carlton training rooms.
