SENIOR coach Brendon Bolton spoke of his pride for Marc Murphy, who will play his 250th game for Carlton tomorrow night.
Murphy will become the 13th player in Carlton’s history to notch up the milestone, after making his debut in the corresponding round 13 years ago.
Speaking to media, Bolton said the imprint Murphy had left on the football club was something worthy of praise.
“I’m really, really proud of Marc Murphy,” Bolton said.

“He’s been a No.1 draft pick. He has faced external scrutiny. He has faced injury. He has played when it has been a difficult time over a number of years at Carlton.
“There’s only a small percentage to play that many (250 games) in a tough and brutal game.”
Murphy was Bolton’s first captain since the coach arrived at Ikon Park, winning the John Nicholls Medal in 2017.

Bolton said Murphy’s impact and influence at the Club could be summed in three words.
“Loyalty,” he said.
“Leadership — and he has shown that. Trying to coach Sam Walsh, Petrevski-Seton, Dow.
“Now, he wants to leave a legacy.
“I’m really proud of ‘Murph’.”
