Senior Coach Mick Malthouse says consistent football is the focus for his Blues over the coming weeks, on the back of narrow losses to Geelong and Hawthorn.

In his weekly message to Carlton members Malthouse said Hawthorn showed why they’re the reigning premiers on Friday night. But he was also pleased with the efforts of his men.

“I’ll never question the endeavour of our blokes at the weekend,” Malthouse said.

“They were really strong at the football and worked as hard as they could, but we turned the ball over and our decision making was quite poor at times.”

Malthouse highlighted the efforts of Andrew Carrazzo who was “able to play on several of their better players and give us a chance at that contest”. While he said Levi Casboult’s four-goal haul was a credit to the hard work the 24-yerar-old has put into his marking and goal kicking.

Carlton’s next opponent is the GWS Giants at Sydney’s Spotless Stadium on Sunday.
