NAVY BLUE  trio Kerryn Harrington, Madison Prespakis and Tayla Harris have been acknowledged for standout seasons with selection in the 2020 AFLW All-Australian side.

The AFL made the announcement on Monday night with Harrington (half back), Prespakis (rover) and Harris (interchange) earning their place in the best team for the 2020 AFLW season.

It is the second time both Harrington and Prespakis have earned an All-Australian selection, while Harris earns her third selection in the team.

With eight goals for the season, Harris' equal career-best haul saw the explosive forward top Carlton's goalkicking list alongside forward partner Georgia Gee. It is the third consecutive year the 23-year-old has lead the way up forward for the Blues.

Harris' presence on the field was also demonstrated in her contested marking ability and work rate providing the team with a handy target in the forward line and further up the ground.

Co-captain Harrington became a back-to-back All Australian after a season in which she solidified her standing as arguably the competition’s most reliable defender.

Ranked third in the competition for marks and fourth for intercept possessions, Harrington was the rock heart of Carlton's backline leading with aplomb and guiding the likes of Mua Laloifi and Charlotte Wilson who enjoyed breakthrough seasons.

Her leadership, consistency and unbeatable approach to the contest made her a huge asset for the Blues while proving a nightmare for her opponents.

There is little more that Prespakis could have accomplished this season.

The 19-year-old has added a second All-Australian honour just days after winning her second club Best and Fairest award in as many seasons.

Prespakis was also runner-up in the AFLPA MVP award, vice-captain of the 22under22 team and is considered among the top contenders for the AFL Women’s Best and Fairest Award to be announced on Tuesday night.

Carlton GM of Women’s Football Ash Brown expressed the Club’s pride in having three players represented in the 2020 AFLW All-Australian team.

“We could not be prouder of ‘Kez’, Maddy and Tay,” Brown said.

“The amount of hard work they have put in this year to take their game to the next level in order to help our football club has been enormous.

“It is fantastic to see them rewarded by being named All Australians: it is an achievement they should deservingly cherish. To have three representatives in the one side is great acknowledgment of the esteem in which our players are held across the competition.

“Knowing all three players, they will use this as motivation to come back for pre-season training determined to get even better and to help their teammates improve so that we can continue to chase the success we are striving for as a team.”
