YOUNG gun Madison Prespakis was full of praise for her teammates in Saturday night’s big win.
The Rising Star was once again at her brilliant best against St Kilda, leading all comers with 26 disposals — 14 of those being contested.
The midfield gun has averaged over 20 disposals a game this season, stamping herself as one of the premier players in the competition.
However, speaking to Channel 7 post-game on Saturday night, Prespakis was quick to praise the 20 teammates she took to the field with.
“Credit to the girls,” Prespakis said.
“It was a hard game, it was quite a funny game… it was such a good effort by the girls.
“We turned it around in the second half. We got on the scoreboard and we stuck together throughout the whole 60 minutes of the game.”
It’s been that togetherness which has been a key feature throughout Daniel Harford’s reign as Senior Coach, with the group mentality seeing Carlton record three wins in a row.
Another big part of Saturday night’s win was Carlton’s efficiency in front of goal.
After some frustrations in the opening two games, the Blues have kicked 21.11 in front of goal in the last three wins (compared to 9.18 in the season’s opening fortnight).
“We’re worked on it a lot since last season: goals win you games,” she said.
“We’ve worked on that a lot and the girls have done really well to get it down there, hit their targets and finish it on top of that.”
