“HE’S MAKING a huge influence on [me].”

From one Sam to another: Petrevski-Seton is relishing the chance to be taken under the wing of Docherty.

Detailing his move to the half-back line, the Halls Creek Cowboy had a fair initiation already when he played the last eight games in the role.

However, it’s the chance to learn from the All-Australian defender which presents an exciting new frontier for the 21-year-old.

Petrevski-Seton couldn’t have been higher in his praise for the co-captain.

“[His impact] is more between the four walls, looking at vision and the little things out on the track as well,” Petrevski-Seton said.

“The technique base, with reaction time and leadership qualities as well: keeping my voice up and about throughout training in the role across half back.

“I’m really looking forward to playing alongside him and having him back in the team as well.”

While crediting Docherty with having a hand in his development, there were two teammates who have stood out to him over pre-season.

Coincidentally, they both come from Petrevski-Seton’s draft class from back in 2016.

“The way Will Setterfield has come back, he’s running really, kicking the ball really well.

“So is Zac Fisher. He is as fit as he has ever been and you can see it.

“The standards they came back at is elite.”

Alongside Fisher (as well as Patrick Cripps and Mitch McGovern), Petrevski-Seton was reunited with another fellow West Australian in recent weeks.

The fourth-year Blue said he couldn’t have been more impressed with Jack Martin since his official arrival at Ikon Park.

“In the first week he’s been at the Club, he has shown that intensity on the training track,” he said.

“He’s a really hard trainer and getting noticed by us peers, which is really good.

“He has fit in really well to be honest and he just couldn’t wait to get things rolling.”
