KEEPING a good thing going.
After finishing the 2019 season across the half-back line, Sam Petrevski-Seton is once again aiming to feature in multiple roles in Navy Blue.
Having played across half forward, the midfield and half back already in his first three years, Petrevski-Seton has started pre-season in the defensive portion of the ground.
He told Carlton Media that it was a chance to build on the positive signs shown in 2019’s final weeks.
“I’ve got myself off half back again, picking up where I played my last few games last season,” Petrevski-Seton said.

“It suits my kicking ability, seeing the game up front and ahead of me. I’m learning a lot from a defending point-of-view, with one-on-one, positioning and craft stuff.
“I’ll hopefully get that down pat: there’s a lot of growth in that area and I’m looking forward to growing in pre-season.”
The 21-year-old averaged just shy of 20 disposals in a seven-week patch in the position last season, with a summer full of growth ahead of him.
Citing the likes of Lachie Plowman, Kade Simpson and Sam Docherty as those he’s “learning off heaps”, Petrevski-Seton echoed Zac Fisher’s previous sentiments about playing multiple roles.
Expecting to also feature in the middle as well, Petrevski-Seton knows the merits of a full pre-season after experiencing it this time last year.
“I’m enjoying both roles at the moment,” he said.
“A full pre-season allows you to play a full pre-season: it’s very important.
“I’m trying to control myself, work hard and set myself up for another good year.”
One of a number of Blues who have been present from day one, Petrevski-Seton was full of praise for the way his teammates have returned.
“We’re down a month now and it’s been a very exciting month,” he said.
“I think we made a really good statement on where we’re at, setting our standards really well.
“We want to get a few early wins on the board and train hard, play hard and get things going early.”
