More than 550 guests packed the Grand Hyatt on Saturday night to celebrate Carlton’s 1995 premiership victory.

Twenty years after that famous win, past players, coaches, officials, staff and fans reminisced in the glory of the ‘90s.

Premiership coach David Parkin and premiership captain Stephen ‘Sticks’ Kernahan were among the guests and speakers on the night.

While on stage Sticks had nothing but praise for his former coach, saying ‘Parko’ never lost faith in the side, but it was a different story when it came to teammate Greg ‘Diesel’ Williams. The centre-half forward made a point of reminding everyone in the room he kicked five goals in that famous victory – a fact lost after Williams also kicked five.

Comedian Sam Pang, who’s a huge Blues fan, interviewed a series of guests including Craig Bradley, Justin Madden, Fraser Brown, Mil Hanna and Anthony Koutoufides.

Ruckman turned politician Justin Madden had the audience in stitches after divulging this piece of advice: “Never set a lap time you can’t beat”, while Craig Bradley said the side never lost focus in 1995, determined to make amends for ’93 and ’94.

The night was a huge success with current Carlton players and coaches also attending the evening, uniting Blues across two decades.
