OVERVIEW
After playing eight senior games last year, Dylan Buckley enjoyed more consistency this season notching up 18 matches for the Blues. His development and improvement was evident: consistently having the confidence to run, carry and bounce his way off halfback.

Buckley’s courage, effort and competitive edge hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Carlton captain Marc Murphy even heralding him as a fan favourite.

In Carlton’s clash with Fremantle in Round 16, ‘Bucks’ was one of the Blues’ best amassing 23 disposals, four clearances and laying four tackles.

Not only did Buckley have a breakout season on the field, but he’s also turned into Carlton’s resident David Letterman. The No.7, with his cheeky smile and quick wit, hosted a very successful TV series on the Carlton website, Discussions with Dylan. His comic timing and ability to lure all the big names, like Marc Murphy, Andrew Walker and retired veteran Andrew Carrazzo made for high-quality entertainment.

HE SAID IT
“It doesn’t get easier that’s for sure! But I think now I’m playing a few more games in a row I’m getting know the boys. Playing in the backline the boys like to think of ourselves as a team within a team. I’m really enjoying my time playing with Zach (Tuohy), ‘Simmo’ (Kade Simpson), ‘Whitey’ (Simon White), ‘Jamo’ (Michael Jamison) and ‘Rowey’ (Sam Rowe). I just hope we can keep improving – I think we can go places.”
