No McDonald for Blues

Carlton has no interest in recruiting recently-retired Melbourne captain James McDonald.

The Carlton Football Club today quashed reports that it had expressed an interest in recruiting recently-retired Melbourne captain James McDonald.

Carlton CEO Greg Swann told carltonfc.com.au, “the Club has neither spoken to James or his management about extending his playing career at the Carlton Football Club in 2011”.

“James has been a fantastic player for Melbourne, but at 34, he doesn’t fit into our long term plans,” he added.
