OVERVIEW
For the third year in a row cheeky Irishman Zach Tuohy ran out for all 22 games for the Blues, providing much-needed consistency in Carlton’s defense.

The durable defender finished the season on 98 games – just two shy of reaching the tonne and having his name etched on the No. 42 locker.

A highlight came in Carlton’s Round 13 win against Gold Coast when Tuohy gathered 27 disposals, three clearances and kicked a goal.

His outstanding season was also recognised by opposition coaches, with the AFL Coaches’ Association including Tuohy in their All-Australian team. The coaches recognised the Irishman as one of the best shutdown defenders in the competition.

HE SAID IT
“Even through the bad times I consider myself very lucky I play for Carlton, I wouldn’t want to play for anyone else – I’m constantly honoured. I have made it my job and my mission to do whatever it takes to get this club back up to where it needs to be.”

THEY SAID IT
“Zach had a terrific year. The mad Irishman was very good off halfback and those signature 50-55m goals are always handy. His work rate and his ability to take his game to the next level has been really great this year.”
