CARLTON will aim for back-to-back wins when it meets Melbourne University at Arden Street on Saturday.
This will be the first time that the Blues play at the venue in their first away game since Round 9.
A host of AFLW stars will be returning to the Carlton line-up, with Darcy Vescio, Alison Downie and Katie Loynes all pulling on the Navy Blue for the first time this season.
The game will be broadcast via the VFL website and 1116 SEN from 11:50am.
Last time they met:
In a closely contested game, the Blues fell just short of the MUGARS with a goal seperating the two teams at the final siren.
Co-captain Natalie Plane and star ruck Breann Moody were among the best on the day, while Alison Downie played a pivotal role up forward.
Player to watch: Darcy Vescio
Carlton’s reigning VFLW Best and Fairest Darcy Vescio will come in for her first game of the VFLW season.
Vescio won the Rohenna Young Medal for the league’s leading goal kicker, aided by her nine-goal haul against Essendon in the final round of the season.
This season, the AFLW star is looking to spend more time in the midfield, so expect her to provide a boost to the Blues’ engine room on Saturday.
Opposition to watch: Ashleigh Riddell
Riddell is coming into this game on the back of 29 disposals, one goal and eight tackles in the MUGARS’ four-point loss to Collingwood.
She is averaging 30.8 disposals from five VFLW games, racking up 30 or more disposals in three of those.
Despite suffering a dislocated shoulder and an ankle injury in the same year, Riddell is firing fit, having played the past two rounds.
Shannon’s say:
“Melbourne Uni is definitely a well-drilled team that structure up really, really well.
“We’ll be hoping to match that and create some more run and carry as we have been doing over the last few weeks.”
