THE Carlton Football Club is today delighted to announce that the Club has reached 64,000 members for the first time in its decorated history.

Blues fans have once again shown they are Bound By Blue, with the Club having its greatest year-on-year membership growth in 155 years this season.

The number comes on the back of the Carlton faithful ranking fourth in the competition for home attendance, with an average of 48,884 Bluebaggers filling the stands each week.

Carlton CEO Cain Liddle thanked all Carlton members who have committed to be part of the journey this season.

“The loyalty and commitment of our members has been nothing short of extraordinary.  Record membership, huge crowds and unprecedented engagement across our digital channels confirms to us that our fans have belief in where we are headed as a football club," Liddle said.

“The future for us is exciting and to have the Carlton faithful showing their support, week in, week out does not go unnoticed – our members make up the fabric of our football club and our players are so grateful for the support they are provided.”

Interim Senior Coach David Teague echoed Liddle’s words, saying the supporters have really got behind the playing group.

“I’m definitely feeling that the supporters are getting right behind the players at the moment,” Teague said.

“We’ve had good crowds and we’re looking forward to another really good crowd this weekend.

“The boys love it when the [fans] get there: they’ve been great for us.”

The Blues still have three home games to play this year against Adelaide, West Coast and St Kilda and there is still time for you to be Bound By Blue: the final day to get your hands on a Carlton membership will be Wednesday 31 July.
