2015 is upon us and the Blues are putting in the hard yards in the lead-up to the AFL NAB Challenge.
Fresh from the Christmas break, Carlton's Dylan Buckley says time spent with family and friends has him focused on the remainder of the pre-season.
"Christmas was spent at home with the family," said Buckley.
"Mum's side came down from Barwon Heads and then we visited dad's side of the family in Kyneton.
"I also spent some time in Echuca and Portsea with friends."
The 21-year-old who was nominated for a Rising Star in 2014, says the Blues are working on bettering themselves as individuals and as a team.
"We are continuing to improve by getting fitter as a group," Buckley said.
"Our pre-season camp at Mount Buller is just around the corner, so we're also preparing for that.
"Personally I am concentrating on my fitness and getting stronger. I know the better I train now, the better I will play throughout the year."
Forever recognising the talents of his teammates, Buckley is particularly excited to see Liam Jones make his debut in the Navy Blue.
Jones, a former Western Bulldog, made the move to Visy Park after the Blues traded their 3rd round draft pick in exchange for the 23-year-old.
Buckley says he's been impressed by Jones' strong work ethic.
"I think he's really going to add something to the team," said Buckley.
"I'm so impressed by all the work that he puts in off the field. He's so strong and fast. I can't wait to see him play."
Full steam ahead for SOJ
Dylan Buckley says he's well rested and ready to tackle the remaining weeks of the pre-season.
