Eddie Betts answers your questions after yesterday's win over Brisbane
Hey Eddie, Great game you had kicked 5 goals outstanding. Just want to ask you, what are your tactics on how you play agianst hard defenders? Is it your Speed?
Eddie Betts: Hey David, thanks man always good to get a few goals! All defenders have their strengths, I try and use my speed where I can, but when you’re a small forward you really have to read the play well and I think that’s an advantage for me.

Hey Eddie Awesome Game today I just want to know whats happening with simon wiggins . he was normally in the team last year now he's kind of dropped off. Thanks
Eddie Betts: We all love Wiggo Romesh. He has been playing some really good footy with the Ants. I think he was named as an emergency this week so if he keeps playing well it will be hard for them not to pick him in the side.
Rhys - 11:19 PM Thursday, 1 July 2010
hey eddie great game tonight. do you think that all three of you yaz and Jefferey should be played in the f50 or should one be playing further up the ground in the midfield?
Eddie Betts: Hi Rhys, I think we can be dangerous when we are all up there. But I really think that Yaz will turn into a classy midfielder once he builds up his tank.
John Damanakis - 11:23 PM Thursday, 1 July 2010
Eddie great game mate 5 goals you've become a star. Do you think there would be a big difference in the team without Matthew Kruezer
Eddie Betts: Thanks John! Yeah there will be. You can’t replace someone like Kreuze. But I think Sammy played a really good game last night and Hampo will get better so hopefully we can get better without him out there for a while.
brendon fair - 11:28 PM Thursday, 1 July 2010
ed mate great game. wat does a week at training involve afl levle, im very interested, brendon mooloolaba qld huge fan of u and the blue thanks mate
Eddie Betts: Thanks for the support Brendon. Well if we look at the week ahead we have had recovery this morning, after this I will go out on to the ground at Visy Park for our junior members clinic and after that I will try and relax for the rest of the day. Some guys will go to the footy tonight. On Saturday I will probably go and watch the Bullants. During the week we will have a few skills sessions and a couple of touch session plus weights sessions every second day, pool sessions, and rehab with physios etc. We will also have a few meetings - team review, individual review with line coaches, opposition preview and leading teams. So it will be pretty full on but I do know that we have Friday off!
Liam Healy - 11:42 PM Thursday, 1 July 2010
Hey eddie just wonderin when you guys came up with the fist bump celebration i think its awesome thank you
Eddie Betts: Hey Liam, we have been doing it for a while now, I think i might have come up with it with a another guy who used to play here!!! But a lot of the guys are doing it now, I hope you like it!
Daniel De Angelis - 11:46 PM Thursday, 1 July 2010
Eddie mate, top game tonight, what did you think about the Thursday night footy, much difference? Good luck for the rest of the year, carn the blue boys.
Eddie Betts: Daniel, love you work! We have played a few Thursday games this season, it doesn’t really worry me too much. The days of the week really mean nothing to us anymore, you just prepare yourself as to how many days away you are from a game of footy.
Jason - 11:50 PM Thursday, 1 July 2010
Hey Eddie "best" Betts great game tonight mate I enjoyed every minute of it. Ur my favourite player and I model my game on ur game. Anyways mate just wondering what sort of things do u do for preparation on game day?? Eg warm up?? Motivation?? And anything else u do on game day. Cheers mate
Eddie Betts: Hey Jason, thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it. Actually to prepare before a game I take my two dogs for a walk, I have a golden retriever and a beagle. When I get to the ground I like to go out and have a few kicks for goal and I am always listening to music, love my music!
Alana - 12:15 AM Friday, 2 July 2010

GOO BLUE BOYS
Eddie Betts: Hi Alana and thanks for that. Top four, would love to finish there but let’s wait and see how the season unfolds, if we attack every game and win more than we lose we will give ourselves every chance. We really want to improve on last year.
Yvonne Poon - 12:26 AM Friday, 2 July 2010
Hi Eddie!
Congratulations on your 5 goals! Was absolutely exciting goal after goal!
Just wanted to ask what it was like on the field today? Watching from the stands was great but what was the atmosphere on the ground? :)
Eddie Betts: Hi Yvonne, thanks again. I really love playing at Etihad. You guys feel so close and Carlton supporters can get really loud which is great! It helps the team when you guys are vocal…keep it up!!!
Mark Vivian - 12:31 AM Friday, 2 July 2010
Stella game again Eddie, your an elite forward but whats with those shorts buddy !! Looks like your wearing a nappy out there.
Eddie Betts: Mark, you don’t like the shorts!!! I’m a bit of a gangster, don’t you think!!! (haha)
Leigh - 9:36 AM Friday, 2 July 2010
Eddie,
The team seemed to take more risks last night using the footy throughout the centre of the field rather than across the boundary. Any chance we will see more of this exciting footy further in the season?
Eddie Betts: Hey Leigh, we certainly did take more risks last night, and I think when it works we look dangerous. We probably overused the ball down back at times and it might have hurt us. I think we are at our best when we play that way and it’s exciting to watch but it can leave us open on the rebound and that’s what we have to look out for. But let’s hope we see more of it!
