Northern Blues coach Josh Fraser assesses the performances of every Carlton-listed player from the 38-point win over Sandringham:
49. Dennis Armfield
Stats: 16 disposals, 4 inside 50s, 6 handball receives, 2 goals
From the coach: A strong performance - he applied pressure around the ball and was composed in the front half with his use. He keeps showing valuable leadership for our younger players.

56. Andrew Gallucci
Stats: 13 disposals, 4 handball receives, 4 tackles, 2 goals
From the coach: Pretty lively in the front half. Andrew applied good pressure and was creative around goal. He’s building a good form line.
50. Daniel Gorringe
Stats: 11 disposals, 5 marks, 1 goal
From the coach: Worked pretty hard as a key forward, running hard both up and down the ground. He provided a good option coming out of defence through his leading patterns. Coming back from injury, he needs to build that over four quarters.
48. Kristian Jaksch
Stats: 15 disposals, 10 marks, 4 rebound 50s
From the coach: KJ played a key defensive post and he was solid. He needs to keep working hard on his contest - some have been terrific while others need to be a bit more consistent. His ball use set us up a lot coming out of our back half.
14. Liam Jones
Stats: 26 disposals, 15 marks, 6 tackles, 4 inside 50s, 4 rebound 50s
From the coach: Outstanding. Liam was a wall for us in our back half. His ability to read it, defend with speed and attack the contest has been a feature. He’s been terrific.

72. Sam Kerridge
Stats: 22 disposals, 8 handball receives, 6 marks, 4 tackles
From the coach: Worked pretty hard around contest, and ran some strong patterns on the wing. He wasn’t as prolific as past weeks but he put together a good performance, and we know he has another level in him.
80. Matthew Korcheck
Stats: 1 disposals, 10 hitouts
From the coach: A quiet day for the big fella, Phillips gave us really good service and Matty wasn’t able to impact. We’ve seen from previous weeks he’s got some upside and we’re backing him in to bounce back.
51. Jed Lamb
Stats: 13 disposals, 6 marks, 5 tackles, 2 goals
From the coach: I thought he was instrumental with his pressure, he really got us going in the second quarter. He ran strong running patterns in the midfield and hit the scoreboard when he was up forward. We were really pleased with his performance.
76. Kym Lebois
Stats: 6 disposals, 3 inside 50s, 3 tackles
From the coach: He had some important moments in the game, where he was able to defend as a small forward with his chase pressure while also showing how creative he can be. We’re looking for consistency from him as he continues his return.
19. Harry McKay
Stats: 11 disposals, 5 marks, 3 inside 50s, 1 goal
From the coach: I thought he competed really well in the air: he brought it to ground and his second efforts and follow-up work at ground level were just about as good as we’ve seen from him.
70. Harrison Macreadie
Stats: 12 disposals, 3 marks, 3 tackles
From the coach: A fraction quieter than he has been in past weeks: he didn’t quite react to things as quickly as he would’ve liked but that hasn’t been a pattern in his game. He’s a super talent and we know he’s going to be an exciting player for us.
24. Rhys Palmer
Stats: 30 disposals, 12 handball receives, 6 marks, 5 clearances, 1 goal
From the coach: Rhys played a strong game, where he worked really hard from contest-to-contest and got some shots on goal. It was his best performance at Northern Blues level.

15. Andrew Phillips
Stats: 11 disposals, 6 marks, 7 tackles, 2 goals, 26 hitouts
From the coach: I thought he was pivotal: he battled hard against Jason Holmes in the ruck and took some big marks at crucial moments around the ground. Just as important, he was able to go forward and kick a few goals.
67. Cameron Polson
Stats: 24 disposals, 8 handball receives, 5 clearances, 1 goal
From the coach: Cam was lively around the ball. His capacity to win the footy and break away was a feature while he kicked an outstanding goal from 50. He’s always working really hard and he’s certainly exciting to watch.

47. Ciaran Sheehan
Stats: 24 disposals, 9 marks, 5 handball receives, 5 rebound 50s
From the coach: I love the way that Gussy is defending at the moment - he’s putting himself in really good positions to impact. His intercept marking and disposal to get us going has been consistent.
5. Billie Smedts
Stats: 25 disposals, 9 marks, 8 handball receives, 6 inside 50s, 1 goal
From the coach: Billie played most of his game on the win. His strong running up and down the ground, his ability to find the footy and his ball use were important for us on the day.

55. Liam Sumner
Stats: 13 disposals, 6 marks, 3 inside 50s, 1 goal
From the coach: Pressure in the front half was a highlight from Liam, who played a really selfless game. He probably could’ve finished with four goals, but he set them up instead and brought his teammates into the game which was terrific.
43. Simon White
Stats: 24 disposals, 10 marks, 4 rebound 50s
From the coach: What you’d expect from ‘Whitey’. A fierce competitor in our back six who rallied the troops, and he had a calming influence over the four quarters for our defenders. He was super for us.
